Best Lightweight OS for Smartphones

Hi Guys! In this this post I will be telling you about some Custom ROMs that you can install in your smartphone when you get fed up with your smartphones' UI and performance. Below is the list of some of the best lightweight OS.

• AOSP:- Android Open Source Project. This is the best lightweight Android OS available for smartphones which gives a feel of stock Android. This rom just includes some basic Google services which are the necessary to run your phone. If you were trying some other custom rom and your phone was lagging then I would suggest you to go with AOSP, as this is the final option available.

• CyanogenMod:- This is also a lightweight OS but it is heavier than AOSP. This ROM gives a new UI  of Android, but adds some new services other than Google which makes the ROM a little bit heavy. The CyanogenMod company is now closed but it's ROM is still available on XDA. So there is no one available to maintain the ROM or fix the bugs.

• LineageOS:- After CyanogenMod was closed then Lineage OS took over the project and used its source code to develope and maintain ROMs. The feel of Android is same as that available in CyanogenMod but Lineage OS is lighter than CyanogenMod.

• MIUI:- Guys it is now possible to use MIUI on any phone, doesn't matter you don't have a Xiomi smartphone. In this custom rom everything would look like MIUI, infact you will get MI store to install apps, but here you will have to manually install a package of Gapps to use Google services and Google apps.

• Resurrection:- Guys resurrection is similar to Lineage or CynogenMod. You won't be finding any difference between resurrection and Lineage OS/CyanogenMod. Except Lineage OS or CyanogenMod uses their own launcher but resurection uses some other launcher. You may find minute differences between the UI of resurrection and the UI of Lineage OS but there will be no difference between the processing of both the roms. Hence if you want to use resurection as a custom ROM but it is not available for your phone then you can go with Lineage OS.

• Hexagon:- It's description is similar to resurrection. I don't have very much to say about this ROM. It is present in the list of lightweight ROMs but it is little bit heavier than Lineage or CynogenMod.

• Pacman:- Guys Pacman is a very nice OS. You will love to use it. It's booting style, its other features, you will feel that you are playing a Pacman game.

• iOS:- Guys I hope you would have heard about clone of iPhone. These clone does not have original iOS, but they use the touch of iOS with Android. These roms are not as light as Lineage or Cynogen, but it's very interesting to use this rom.

• XOSP:- It's a lightweight Custom OS for Smartphones, which gives a complete feel of Sony Xperia Smartphones. Else it's performance is similar to Lineage OS or CyanogenMod OS.
